It has been noticed that many drivers choose to drive ahead even if severe weather warnings are being issued. If you go ahead with car journeys in such situations, there are the chances of disasters and accidents increase. However, there may be some emergency situation and driving in such circumstances, even in adverse weather conditions, may be inevitable.

Here are some tips for safe driving in poor conditions for drivers who decide to venture out:

Expect bad weather during longer journeys and be prepared:
During long journeys, expect bad weather and delays as the roads can be frustratingly busy. Have all spares and warm clothes with you if you are driving in winter weather since you may have to wait for traffic to ease up.

Drive slowly:
You will experience poor visibility due to adverse weather conditions leading to bad visibility and/or foggy. In such situations it is sensible to drive slowly, be alert and careful.

Never drive if you are feeling tired:
Driving continuously can result in tiredness and feeling drowsy. Better stop your car and have a short nap before resuming driving. Never drive forcibly if you are feeling tired because it can lead to an accident which could prove to be fatal.

Service your car:
Before setting out for a long journey, make sure you get your car serviced. Also check whether all the important vehicle components are repaired and replaced. Remember that if you do not have proper replacements, the components may fail to function during extreme weather climate. Check whether your radiator has antifreeze filled and all lights including fog lights are clean and working properly. Also have a proper evaluation of car battery and tires.
